Perfecting Your Love
by Psalmist Doriana Goins
Recently, I heard the Holy Spirit speak so clearly to me as I put my head on my pillow saying, “PERFECTING YOUR LOVE”. Immediately I knew what He was speaking to me.
Many of us spend hours, months and even years perfecting our gift or talent, whether we are learning to play an instrument, attending vocal classes or even learning how to better our leadership skills. At times we travel hundred or thousands of miles to attend different conferences relating to the area of ministry in which we are involved in at our churches, but unfortunately we spend little time perfecting the spiritual areas of our lives, like the area of LOVE.
Without love in our lives, we are just a bunch of NOISE. What good is it if we don't allow LOVE to be put into ACTION. Love has no end, it is eternal, everlasting. We are given opportunities by God to perfect our love and put it into action on a daily basis. We must learn how to love those who we find difficult to love. Perhaps it's someone we minister with on our worship team, and because of personality differences or clashes, we find it difficult to love.
I am sure that God gives and will continue to give us opportunities to perfect our love. His love is not just ordinary love, it is extraordinary, expressed in a supernatural way. It is a love which has no limits or boundaries. If we our going to move in the area of supernatural worship, we must learn to love in this way. The system of this world expresses love in a natural way, but as children of God, we must express our love in a supernatural way.
I believe that we all need to spend more time perfecting our love. Let's take time this week to meditate on this word and allow the Holy Spirit to help you grow in the area of love.
1 Corinthians 13:1 (NLT)
13 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
Let's not be just a loud sound or noise, but may our lives be a sound of true and pleasing worship to the King. God is Love! May we also be an expression of LOVE.
God Bless!
