The Climb: Worship From God's Perspective
by Pastor Christopher Goins
Recently we took a few days and travel to the southern part of Argentina. While we were there, we had the opportunity to travel around and as see the beautiful mountains, trees, rivers, waterfalls and lakes that surround that area of the country.
I heard the Lord speak very clearly to me as we prepared to travel around and take in the beauty that was around us. I knew this was a word for me and for others who are wanting to experience more of the Lord during this next year.
I heard the Lord speak very clearly to me as we prepared to travel around and take in the beauty that was around us. I knew this was a word for me and for others who are wanting to experience more of the Lord during this next year.
While we were making our way up the mountain side in order to get a better view of what was around us, I heard the Lord speak this word into my spirit... “I have called my people to ascend to the higher places, however, many are giving up too quickly before they get to the place I have called them to, a higher place. They have not yet tasted and experienced that which I have prepared for them, but if they will ascend and climb higher, they will begin to see with a totally new perspective.”
There are moments in the journey of life that we just wanted to give up, we can't see what is around us. At times it looks like we are never going to be able to get to that place where we can enjoy the beautiful view that is around us. Often in our spiritual lives, we are surrounded by trees, thick brush and rocks which at times almost makes it impossible to continue upward. However, it's in those moments that we must hold on to the promises the Lord has given us.
The Apostle Paul on a regular basis encouraged the body of Christ, reminding them that God is faithful to complete the good work that He has begun in them. (Philippians 1:6 and 1 Thessalonians 5:24)
In Psalms 24 (see below), we are given a wonderful promise from the Lord. To those who have clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.
God wants our WORSHIP. Too often, we cannot see the majesty and the beauty of the Lord, because we are UNWILLING to let go of those things in our lives that are holding us back to ascend to a new level. Those things may include... POSSESSIONS, HABITS or even PEOPLE that are in our lives which leave us contaminated and without strength.
God is calling His WORSHIPERS to a NEW LEVEL! I encourage you, keep climbing, let go and place all your trust in Him! God has great things prepared for us.
For those of you who are Worship Leaders or Musicians in the house of the Lord, take time and press through in personal intimacy with the Lord. CLIMB!!! You can't LEAD people to a place that you've never been. So, if you want to experience more this weekend, it's time to CLIMB so you can begin to Worship and see life from God's perspective.
Be Blessed,
